01 / Who this is for

For manufacturers ready to build a market—not just test a list

The strongest fit is an Indian SME manufacturer that already exports, or is genuinely export-ready, and wants to enter a specific new country or choose between a small set of credible markets.

Manufacturer profile

  • Existing exporters adding a new target country
  • Export-ready manufacturers with a proven product
  • Manufacturers without meaningful distribution in the target market
  • Teams that need systematic prospecting beyond trade fairs, portals and inbound enquiries

Typical internal stakeholders

  • Founder or owner
  • Managing director
  • Export head
  • International sales head
  • Business development head

02 / The problem

A country name is not a market-entry plan

Most entry efforts stall between broad market interest and a usable sales pipeline. The missing layer is often disciplined buyer research, decision-maker access and persistent qualification.

This is commercial market entry: deciding where to compete, mapping who buys and creating real conversations—not producing a report that stops before outreach.

  1. 01

“We want to enter Africa, but do not know which country to prioritise.”

  2. 02

“We know the country, but not which buyers are genuinely relevant.”

  3. 03

“We rely on trade fairs, directories and inbound enquiries.”

  4. 04

“We have lists, but the companies have not been verified.”

  5. 05

“Our export team cannot prospect the market consistently.”

  6. 06

“Generic B2B portals have not produced serious conversations.”

03 / What Elevio does

The commercial work between intent and opportunity.

Core problem

The manufacturer can supply internationally, but does not yet have reliable buyer coverage or distribution in the target market.

01

Evaluate the Product × Country opportunity

We test whether the target makes commercial sense before treating it as an outreach campaign.

  • Product scope and relevant HS classification
  • Demand signals, competitors and India’s position
  • Major tariff, compliance and entry considerations
  • How buying and distribution are structured
02

Define the buyer ICP

The right buyer type depends on the product, route to market and local purchasing structure.

  • Importers and distributors
  • Wholesalers and industrial suppliers
  • Retailers, OEMs or direct B2B buyers where appropriate
  • Priority criteria and exclusion rules
03

Build the buyer and decision-maker map

We identify relevant organisations, verify why they fit and find the people likely to own the commercial decision.

  • Account relevance evidence
  • Owners and commercial directors
  • Procurement, category, import and sourcing roles
  • Available professional contact data
04

Run outreach and qualify interest

We develop market-appropriate messaging, execute follow-up and separate polite replies from usable opportunities.

  • Email and LinkedIn, with phone or WhatsApp where appropriate and compliant
  • Product relevance and present sourcing position
  • MOQ, requirements, timing and next step
  • Context-rich handover to the manufacturer’s team

04 / Process

A visible path from commercial question to buyer handover.

Each stage must create a usable decision or sales asset. Where evidence changes the direction, the plan changes with it.

  1. 01 / Validate

    Product × market validation

Assess the product, country and route to market before committing to buyer acquisition.

    • Demand
    • Competition
    • India’s position
    • Entry considerations
  2. 02 / Define

    Buyer ICP

Specify which buyer types, company traits and commercial signals indicate genuine fit.

    • Buyer type
    • Channel
    • Company profile
    • Exclusions
  3. 03 / Map

    Buyer mapping

Research and verify organisations that match the market-entry thesis.

    • Relevance
    • Geography
    • Evidence
    • Priority
  4. 04 / Reach

    Decision-makers and outreach

Find relevant commercial contacts and run a structured, market-appropriate outreach sequence.

    • Role
    • Contact path
    • Message
    • Follow-up
  5. 05 / Qualify

    Commercial qualification

Clarify sourcing interest, supplier context, requirements, timing and a practical next action.

    • Fit
    • Interest
    • MOQ
    • Timing
  6. 06 / Handover

    Opportunity handover

Transfer qualified conversations with the account history and next-step context the export team needs.

    • Buyer context
    • Requirements
    • Conversation history
    • Next step

05 / Deliverables

What the manufacturer actually receives.

The exact volume and campaign boundary are scoped to the product, market and evidence available. We do not publish arbitrary buyer-count promises.

06 / Operating boundaries

What we do—and what we do not claim to do.

Elevio owns the commercial last mile: market choice, buyer intelligence, outreach and qualification. Specialist export work remains with the right licensed or technical provider.

Elevio owns

  • Evaluate market-entry logic
  • Research and verify overseas buyers
  • Find relevant decision-makers
  • Execute outreach and follow-up
  • Qualify and hand over opportunities

Elevio does not claim

  • Act as a freight forwarder, customs broker or CHA
  • Present export documentation as an in-house core service
  • Issue certifications or regulated compliance advice
  • Guarantee orders, distributors or revenue
  • Use unverified bulk lists as a substitute for research
Coordination rule

If a certification, documentation, logistics or target-market requirement blocks progress, Elevio can identify it and help coordinate with an appropriate specialist. The requirement is resolved before buyer acquisition continues where necessary.

Illustrative example — not a case study

Example scenario

A Jalandhar hand-tool manufacturer already exports but has no meaningful distribution in Kenya. Elevio evaluates the Kenya opportunity, maps suitable importers and distributors, reaches relevant decision-makers and hands qualified opportunities to the manufacturer’s export team.

07 / Qualification criteria

A useful engagement needs the right starting conditions.

Strong fit

  • A clearly defined, proven product
  • Existing export experience or credible export readiness
  • Capacity and margins to fulfil international orders
  • Leadership commitment to a chosen market
  • A sales team able to handle qualified conversations
  • Willingness to address market-specific requirements

Poor fit

  • No defined product or production capability
  • A request for a generic database only
  • Expectation of guaranteed purchase orders
  • No capacity to respond to buyer requirements
  • Need for freight, customs or documentation execution as the main service
  • No willingness to invest in consistent market development

08 / FAQ

Practical questions before we begin.

Answers are intentionally specific about what Elevio can control, where specialist input may be required and what cannot be promised.

How do you find importers and distributors?

We start with a defined buyer ICP, then research companies using product relevance, import or distribution evidence, channel fit, geography and commercial signals. A company is prioritised because there is a reason it may buy—not simply because it appears in a directory.

Which countries should we target?

We compare a practical shortlist using demand, competition, India’s position, buyer accessibility, compliance friction and commercial attractiveness. We do not default to a country solely because it is familiar or was mentioned first.

Do you guarantee buyers or export orders?

No. Buyer decisions depend on product fit, pricing, terms, quality, timing and the market. Elevio can control research quality, outreach discipline and qualification; it cannot credibly guarantee a buyer’s commercial decision.

Do you handle export documentation, customs or freight?

Those are not Elevio’s core in-house services. We may identify requirements and help coordinate with appropriate specialists, while the client and relevant provider remain responsible for specialist execution and advice.

Can you work with our existing export team?

Yes. Elevio can operate as the research, prospecting and qualification layer, then hand opportunities to your export or international sales team with notes, requirements and recommended next steps.

How long does a market-entry campaign take?

The timeline depends on product complexity, market research, data availability, sales cycles and response patterns. We scope research, outreach and review periods after understanding the Product × Country situation rather than publishing a universal timeline.

What products do you work with?

The model is best suited to established B2B or distribution-led manufactured products with clear specifications, viable export economics and identifiable overseas buyer types. Fit is assessed before an engagement is recommended.
